Diet Rules to Follow!

Don't skip breakfast- Eat breakfast. It'll energize you for the day and keep your diet in check.

Avoid late-night snacks- Finish eating three hours before bedtime. Your metabolism slows down when you sleep so you shift from fat burning to fat storage.

Start with greens- Eat in the right order. Eat vegetables first to naturally have more of them and ultimately eat fewer calories.

Snack away- Eat every three to four hours so you'll be equipped to say no to temptations.

Say no to soda- Regular soda drinking may make muscles less likely to burn fat.

Fill up on fiber and protein- Enjoy so many non-starchy vegetables, nuts, seeds, and lean proteins that you're too full for anything else.

Tired Seeing Your Drooping Belly!

Turmeric Powder- Turmeric contains curcumin, a yellow, plant-based pigment, which works as an anti-inflammatory agent, and it may assist your body in metabolizing fat, potentially promoting weight loss. Curcumin significantly lowers serum cholesterol and proteins that play a role in fat production. It may speed up fat metabolism and have an overall lowering effect on body fat and total weight.

Dry Ginger Powder- Ginger improves satiety and thus prevents one from over eating. Ginger lowers fat absorption while eating high fat diet. It stimulates pancreatic activity and increases the production of bile salts. Ginger helps in weight loss by serving as a digestive help. An effective digestive system helps in ingesting food efficiently and can contribute to weight loss as bulk of the food is processed and eliminated out of the body. Effective digestion helps in using up of the glucose in the blood and stored fat. Ginger also helps in weight loss by improving metabolism. Ginger is found to be a thermogenic agent that helps in burning fat. The stored fat in the body can be burnt off by the increased rate of metabolism.

Kidney Stones/Disease Can be Horrendous! Ease it with Natural Tips!

Kidney disease is a growing problem. Anyone can develop kidney disease, regardless of age or race. The main risk factors for developing kidney disease are Diabetes, High blood pressure, Cardiovascular (heart and blood vessel) disease, and a family history of kidney failure. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the most common causes of kidney disease.
These conditions can slowly damage the kidneys over many years.

Let’s First Understand-

What are the kidneys and what do they do?

The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They are located just below the rib cage, one on each side of the spine. Every day, the two kidneys filter about 120 to 150 quarts of blood to produce about 1 to 2 quarts of urine, composed of wastes and extra fluid. The urine flows from the kidneys to the bladder through two thin tubes of muscle called ureters, one on each side of the bladder. The bladder stores urine. The muscles of the bladder wall remain relaxed while the bladder fills with urine. As the bladder fills to capacity, signals sent to the brain tell a person to find a toilet soon. When the bladder empties, urine flows out of the body through a tube called the urethra, located at the bottom of the bladder. In men the urethra is long, while in women it is short.

Why are the kidneys important?

The kidneys are important because they prevent the build up of wastes and extra fluid in the body keeping levels of electrolytes stable, such as sodium, potassium, and phosphate making hormones that help regulate blood pressure, make red blood cells, and bones stay strong.

How do the kidneys work?

Is Your Metabolism Holding You Back? Boost It Naturally!

Metabolism”- We’ve all got one, but some have faster or slower than others. And that matters because the rate at which your body burns calories and converts fuel to energy can also affect how easily you gain or lose weight.

While a properly working metabolism is definitely important for preventing unwanted weight gain, boosting your metabolism is also critical for many other bodily functions related to maintaining general health.

So what is metabolism?

Metabolism describes all the chemical processes that go on continuously inside the body to keep you alive and your organs functioning normally, such as breathing, repairing cells and digesting food. These chemical processes require energy. The minimum amount of energy your body requires to carry out these chemical processes is called the basal metabolic rate (BMR).

Your BMR accounts for anything between 40% and 70% of your body’s daily energy requirements depending on your age and lifestyle. A ‘slow metabolism’ is more accurately described as a low BMR.

Do some people have a faster metabolism than others?

Body size, age, gender and genes all play a role in determining your metabolic rate.

Muscle cells require more energy to maintain than fat cells, so people with a higher muscle to fat ratio tend to have a higher BMR.

As we get older, we tend to gain fat and lose muscle. This explains why the BMR tends to decrease with age.
In general, men tend to have a faster metabolism as they have more muscle mass, heavier bones and less body fat than women, which is why their daily calorie allowance is higher.

The lower your muscle mass, the slower your metabolism. With less muscle and a slower metabolism, it then becomes a lot easier to put body fat back on after coming off the diet.

Your metabolism naturally slows steadily after age 40, which means you need to proactively add certain metabolism boosters into your daily life to keep yourself feeling and acting young.

When you have a sluggish metabolism, the body’s natural defense mechanism and levels of immunity drop and you become more susceptible to various infections that surround us.

Here are common signs you’re suffering from less than ideal metabolic functioning-

Ways to Thyroid Cure & Prevention!

The thyroid – a small gland in the neck, located just underneath the Adam’s apple – has two main functions which are essential to the health of the human body which are to maintain the proper concentration of calcium ions in the blood stream and to regulate metabolism, including the digestion and processing of proteins. The thyroid is responsible for a lot of things! It regulates your metabolism, keeps you at a healthy weight, makes energy, keeps your moods balanced and even, helps you get a sound night sleep and helps you have good digestion. In fact, your thyroid plays a part in almost every physiological process. That is why, when it’s not working optimally, it can really wreck havoc in your life.

The thyroid, though small otherwise, is one of the largest glands in the endocrine system. Diseases of the endocrine system are mostly caused due to production disorders that lead to inadequacy or excess of hormones or inappropriate response to hormones by tissues.

The thyroid hormone is produced by hypothalamus, pituitary glands and the thyroid gland which is situated just below the larynx. The thyroid gland is a key component of the endocrine system and its basic function to convert iodine from your dietary intake into thyroid hormones. These hormones are essential in regulating your metabolism and even a small variation in the amount that is produced can have a dramatic effect on the body.

Embarassing Dark Patches on Face! Melasma, Lighten it Naturally!

Melasma, also known as, Chloasma or Hyperpigmentation, is a skin condition that causes an overproduction in melanin to occur in an area of skin causing irregular darker patches of skin to visibly appear. The discoloration typically covers different parts of the face including the cheeks, forehead, bridge of the nose, above the upper lip and chin. The condition typically appears in women ages 20 to 50 years old. The cause of melasma is not known; however, it is commonly associated with exposure to the sun, oral contraceptives and pregnancy.

Hyperpigmentation is one of the most common and one of the hardest to get rid of. There are plenty of different reasons for dark spots to show up on our face that have nothing to do with acne or a poor skin routine. Often, melasma is caused by the UVA rays from the sun which is why suncreen or natural protection from the sun is essential in our skincare. Even if you're diligent about your daily SPF, melasma can also occur from hormonal changes from pregnancy and birth control pills.

Several factors trigger the formation of dark patches on the face. Some of these include the following:

Hormonal fluctuation is the leading cause of melasma in many people. It occurs when the hormone estrogen stimulates the formation of pigmentation, causing dark, blotchy and uneven patches on the face.

Prolonged exposure to the sun can trigger melasma.

Genetic predisposition is another reason for melasma to appear on the skin.

Use of oral contraceptives, drugs such as tetracycline and quinine may also trigger the formation of pigmentation on the skin.

Good news for pregnant ladies is that your pregnancy and melasma will most likely be over soon. Natural and conventional treatments for hormonal melasma should only be started when birth control is stopped else there are chances of making it worse.
